Following the success of the CIRS, the new UBC Studentenwerk building, which opened in the summer of 2015, was also designed to meet the strictest sustainability requirements. The UBC Longhouse is the university`s Aboriginal activity centre. The university has an associate dean of Aboriginal education and has developed board and senate policies as well as Aboriginal-led councils within the university`s structure.  UBC offers diplomas in First Nations and Indigenous Studies through a program at the Faculty of Art and a Chinook Diploma Program at the Sauder School of Business; He also operates the Chinook Summer Biz Camp to promote entrepreneurship among First Nations and Métis HighSchool students.
